Beauty is holistic: it’s the energy that glows within us, and the energy we put out into the world. It’s what we put in our body and on it.
To enhance our beauty energy, we need to release what no longer serves us. We habitually add items, activities, beliefs, and routines to our lives until they’re overflowing. Releasing something brings us more space, more freedom, and more energy. We’ve spoken with our Spoon Crew — our team, our friends, and some of our favorite wellness gurus — to discover what they’re releasing.
This week, the founder and designer of 6 Shore Road, Pooja Kharbanda, shares what she’s letting go and why.
The Physical
What physical item are you throwing away?
I’m not a fan of throwing away “things”. Everything has some sort of emotional connection. Instead, I’m replacing my existing and very old spice jars with new, freshly ground Indian spices my mom just gave me.
The Thought Pattern
What thought pattern you cycle back to are you releasing?
Judging others. There’s a Deepak Chopra Meditation playlist I listen to where he says: “Judge not today. Judgment creates turbulence in our mind. When there is turbulence in our mind, then it interferes with the creativity of our soul.”
The Habit
What long-lasting habit or movement are you stopping?
Sugar! I love sugar and have been trying hard to move away from processed sugars and eating natural sugars instead. I just bought some pomegranates from Chinatown to help me with this :).
The Visual
What image or picture makes you feel beautiful, and why?
Feeling beautiful comes from being happy and confident: it’s an inside glow and energy that’s visible to everyone around you. I chose this image [See top. — Ed.] which I took last year in the Hamptons. It’s just a simple image of the sky and the corn fields, but it projects so much clarity and all the feel good vibes.
