Fridge Voyeur is a virtual visit into the chill zone of the Spoon Crew — our team, our friends, and some of your favorite wellness peeps on Instagram. We may post a lot of soup and pretty salads but you better believe there’s a whole lot of variety, and a little naughty, going on behind closed doors. We know you want a peek ;)

Splendid Spoon: What are your top 5 staple items you can’t live without?
Jes Woods:
- Bananas
- Cereal + almond milk
- Coffee
- Bread
- Avocado
SS: What’s the weirdest thing in your fridge?
JW: Sea salt caramel sauce from a market in Easton, CT (have you tried dipping apples into that stuff?!).
SS: What’s your fave sweet and what’s your fave savory?
JW: Sweet: I’m going to have to wildly unhealthy here and say it’s the vegan snickerdoodle cookie found in most Brooklyn bodegas (and not because I’m vegan, but because it’s so soft and so good!) Savory: My new favorite savory is a mug of warm bone broth.
SS: If you were one thing in your fridge what would it be?
JW: Embarrassingly, I don’t cook, which is why you’ll find a lot of prepared foods or simple vegetables or fruits in my fridge. And since I don’t cook, the fridge is often quite barren, but it is never without almond milk and a few IPAs. So if I were one thing in my fridge, it would be the ‘ole trusty almond milk. You can’t make cereal without almond milk!
SS: What is a food you cook or one that is in your fridge that is comforting or nostalgic? Although we eat to keep our bodies strong and healthy, food also connects us to our past, to friends, and to different times in our lives.
JW: If by “cooking”, you mean “warming up on the stove,” then my favorite comfort food is my Indie Fresh bison meatballs and quinoa. I don’t know if my Mom’s meatloaf was equally as healthy (mainly because it was usually served with a side of mac ’n’ cheese), but it was definitely as comforting.
