Fridge Voyeur is a virtual visit into the chill zone of the Spoon Crew — our team, our friends, and some of your favorite wellness gurus. We may eat a lot of soup and stews, but you better believe there’s a whole lot of variety, and a little bit of naughty, going on behind closed doors. We know you want a peek ;)
This week, we’re peeking into the fridge of Becca Bristow, dietician and YouTube star.
Splendid Spoon: Hey Becca! Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Becca: I’m a Registered Dietitian and content creator who is all about seeking balance, ditching perfectionism, and enjoying my healthy lifestyle to the fullest!
SS: What are your the 5 staples you can’t live without?
BB: Nut butter, spinach, eggs, oats, and dark chocolate.
SS: What’s the weirdest thing in your fridge?
BB: A packet of Chick-Fil-A sauce — that place is my husband’s guilty pleasure!
SS: What’s your fave sweet and what’s your fave savory?
BB: Favorite sweet would definitely have to be chocolate chip cookies. But they have to be good chocolate chip cookies — none of that Chips Ahoy trash — they’re not worth it! Favorite savory is easily freshly made tortilla chips with guac or salsa.
SS: If you were one thing in your fridge, what would it be?
BB: Probably fruit! We love fruit in our house, so that section of the fridge definitely gets the most love!
SS: What food do you turn to when you want something comforting or nostalgic? Although we eat to keep our bodies strong and healthy, food also connects us to our past, to friends, and to different times in our lives.
BB: When I want to make something comforting that I can cozy up with, I make my grandmother’s chilli recipe. I always serve it with a thick slice of freshly baked, crusty, hearty, whole wheat bread. It’s the perfect comfort meal!
