Fridge Voyeur is a virtual visit into the chill zone of the Spoon Crew — our team, our friends, and some of your favorite wellness gurus. We may eat a lot of plants, but you better believe there’s a whole lot of variety, and a bit of naughty, going on behind closed doors. We know you want a peek ;).
This week, we’re peeking into the fridge of food, travel, and lifestyle blogger, Alexa Loebel.
Splendid Spoon: Hey Alexa! Tell us a bit about yourself.
Alexa Loebel: When I’m not at my 9–5, I write for various digital magazines, create social content for brands, and binge on Netflix. I love traveling the world, creating new memories in new (to me) places, and sharing my experiences.
I’m a typical single twenty-something who’s too busy chasing dreams and positive change to make dating a priority. There’s only so many years to create my best life! Right now, I’m focused on embracing health, happiness, and gratitude in mind, body, and spirit :).
SS: What are the 5 staples you can’t live without?
AL: Avocado, ranch dressing, Halo Top ice cream, cheese, BBQ sauce.
SS: What’s the weirdest thing in your fridge?
AL: I wouldn’t say anything in my fridge is weird, but I would say that I have a weird obsession with ranch dressing. I eat it with everything: chicken, chips, vegetables, cauliflower pizza, steak… I’ve even tried mixing it into guacamole!
SS: What’s your fave sweet and what’s your fave savory?
AL: My favorite sweet is 100% Halo Top ice cream. It fulfills every sweet craving I have. My favorite savory is slightly random, but it’s my go-to when I need a healthy “cheat” snack: pita chips with avocado and sriracha.
SS: If you were one thing in your fridge, what would it be?
AL: Haha, ask anyone who knows me and they would say avocado or ranch dressing. And they would be right ;).
SS: What food do you turn to when you want something comforting or nostalgic? Although we eat to keep our bodies strong and healthy, food also connects us to our past, to friends, and to different times in our lives.
AL: I have to say Chinese or Vietnamese food. When I come home from traveling, or if I’m not feeling well and need comfort food, I always order Chinese or Vietnamese. When I was little it was what my family ordered when one of us wasn’t feeling well, so there’s always going to be comfort in those two choices! ❤
